How to Stay Healthy While Traveling....

Do you get jet lag?  Headache? Sinus congestion? Feeling sick or off after flying or traveling?  Wouldn't it be great to keep it all at bay?  Keep it away completely?  Yes it's possible.

It took me such a long time to see the pattern... travel get sick.... travel get sick... There are many reasons this could be happening for you so I will not begin to guess your triggers... For me I discovered what I needed to avoid completely, what I could pack to help keep me feeling great and how to find what I needed once I reached my destination.

Here's My List of What I do to prepare my body for a trip:

1 week before everyday until the trip:
  1. avoid sugar, goat cheese, goat yogurt, gluten, processed food, oil, meat and eating out
  2. drink at least 3 qts of water with 1 tablespoon of ACV every day.
  3. eat a green shake,
  4. veggies
  5. eggs.
  6. 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  7. Consistent supplements 2x's daily
Day OF:
  1. Pack a lunch and snacks for the trip
    • Cooler/Lunch sack
    • apples
    • grapes
    • grapefruit
    • chia seeds
    • jarrow protein powder
    • pink himalayan sea salt
    • nutritional yeast
    • black pepper
    • tahini hummus
    • celery
    • carrots
    • mixed salad combos in a tupperware
    • avocado
  2.  Water
    • Drink 1 qt of water 30 min before flight.
    • Get a qt of water in the airport after you've passed thru the security you'll need this for the flight.
    • as soon as you land get another qt of water
    • Drink at least 3 qts of water a day while you are on your trip. (preferably spring or distilled water with concentrace minerals or pink himalayan sea salt.)
  3. Supplements for the Trip

    • Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (3 x daily tablespoon in qt of water)
    • Vitamin C (applewise)
    • Lysine, Astragulus and Olive Leaf
    • Oregano oil (drops)
    • Coconut Oil (mouth pulling, eat 2 tablespoons daily.. unrefined and cold pressed)
    • Colloidal Silver (spray for lungs and mouth)
    • Activated Charcoal ( as needed for headache or stomach upset)
    • Whole Food Based Multi Vitamin (2 x daily)
    • Co-Enzyme B Comple (2 x daily)
    • B12 ( 2 x daily)
    • Iodine (1 x daily)
    • Centrophenoxine ( 2 x daily)
  4. Focus and calm
    • 20 min am, 20 min pm to 432 mhz music
    • yoga 2 x daily
  5. Once landed
    • Located closest store
    • get water
    • vegetables
    • fruits
    • pasture raised eggs
    • avoid eating out
By sticking to this regiment I don't get sick any more... I feel great and have tons of energy.   When I think back to how I used to feel I become so grateful to finally have found a way to stay healthy and feel great while I'm traveling around.  My only regret is that I wish I would have started doing it sooner.  So many of my trips were wasted to me being ill.  I wish healthy days for you too.  It may seem like a lot of work, but honestly the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

In the beginning... How to turn your health around starting today.

Starting anything new is difficult, let alone trying to implement a life change with food.  Are ready to do something but you're not sure what to do first?  Here are some ideas that helped me get started that may help you.  Now I know this may sound crazy but it is what I did and it did completely change my life and my health.

IN THE KITCHEN:
Go get rid of...
  • 'WHITE' flour (pastas, rice, bread, cereal)
  • Sugar - (corn syrup, white sugar, splenda, agave)
  • Baked Beans - Beans in a can
  • Potatoes - (white/red)
  • Anything with GMO
  • Soda
  • Juice

Scared yet?  Amazingly enough it seemed hard to remove these items from my life at the time and now I can't imagine ever having them in my life again.  Here is what I went to the store in search of...

NEW FOOD CHOICES
  • Gluten free products (pasta, brown/long grain rice, bread, cereal)
  • Stevia  (liquid form offers - vanilla/chocolate flavors and more)
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Millet, lentils, adzuki beans, black beans, red beans - whole raw
    • Hummus - garbanzo beans, tahini (sesame seed)
  • Organic Foods without GMO
  • Organic Vegetables
  • Organic Fruits (sour fruit only - green apple, green grapes, berries(ANY), grapefruit, lemons, and limes)
  • Distilled water (add Trace minerals from Concentrace)
  • Make your own Juice drinks with a Juicer

In this step you can quickly see the replacement items for those items that may be found "in the kitchen" with your "new food choices".  Your new goal is to eat RAW ORGANIC foods, preferably FRUITS and VEGGIES 80% of the time, everything else should be thought as a supplement.  Now remember this new goal will take a while to obtain so go slow and do what you can.  Noone expects you to get to 80% the first week.. just keep aiming for the goal.

Also, please remember that even though you are replacing gluten products with gluten free products you should still pay attention to the sugar content on the bag of every package.

So with all of that said... HAVE fun GO TO RECIPES for more fun ideas with food!

My Magic Pill is Alkalinity

My Magic Pill is my nutrition.  Live food - Live body.  By balancing your foods you help your body achieve its maximum potential.  By making the switch to an 80% alkaline and 20% acid diet my life has completely changed....I lost weight... I no longer have allergies, medications, headaches, endometriosis pains, knee pains, diabetes type 2 and  chronic fatigue.  I'm now feeling better than I have ever felt and it's all from learning about food and how by eating the right foods you can heal your life.

Adopting a diet that allows for closer to 80% Alkaline foods and 20% Acid foods can help you regain PH balance as well as help address a number of health related issues.  Some items below have been shaded as 'AVOID' = these are food items I have chosen to avoid.  To learn more about why we should avoid "Grains, Beans & Potatoes" click here to read the article.

How Fats are Good

What You Need to Know about Fats

Fats are more important than you know.  The trick is learning which ones are the best for your and why.    Good fats help you maintain your energy levels. I have personally found that by eating a tablespoon of Virgin Coconut oil in the am and pm I have increased my energy levels two-fold and have successfully managed chronic fatigue.

Healthy Fats are:
Preferred fuel for your heart Useful antiviral agents (caprylic acid) Useful for lowering cholesterol levels (palmitic and stearic acids)
Carriers for important fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, and required for the conversion of carotene to vitamin A, for mineral absorption, and for a host of other biological processes Effective as an anticaries, antiplaque and anti fungal agents (lauric acid) Modulators of genetic regulation and prevent cancer (butyric acid)

Sources of healthy fats are:
Olives and Olive oil (for cold dishes) Coconuts, and coconut oil (for all types of cooking and baking) Butter made from raw grass-fed organic milk
Raw Nuts, such as, almonds or pecans Organic pastured egg yolks Avocados
Grass fed meats Palm oil Unheated organic nut oils

Another healthful fat you want to be mindful of is animal-based omega-3 found in Hemp Oil & Fish Oil.   Deficiency in this essential fat can cause or contribute to very serious health problems, both mental and physical, and may be a significant underlying factor of up to 96,000 premature deaths each year.

Fats are important to maintain fuel, energy, clarity, weight, and overall health.  Fats can be very useful when you are trying to get away from sugar and many have found that it helped the body overcome the sugar withdrawal.

Ultimately, if you leave a PH balanced life you'll want to include healthy fats into the equation to help your body function at it's fullest capacity.

A great example menu for the day would include:

  • Am:  Egg (whites cooked, yolk not cooked), Grapefruit and Avocado
  • Lunch:  Cabbage wrap with whatever you would put on a sandwich (add avocado, olive oil, hemp oil, etc)
  • Pm:  Flash stir fry veggies with fish, cooked in coconut oil and a tablespoon of olive oil added after removed from the heat.
  • In Between:  Snack on almonds, sour fruits, raw veggies, and seeds
